Canvas Peer Review

A peer review assignment enables students to provide feedback on another student’s assignment submission. Peer reviews are a tool that allows communication between students and can help students master the concepts of a course and learn from each other. Peer reviews can be assigned to show student names or display anonymously.

Peer Review Notes

  • A peer reviewer can leave annotated feedback through DocViewer by clicking “View Feedback” while reviewing a paper.
  • Peer reviews are considered completed when a student leaves a comment. Annotated comments in DocViewer do not count toward this requirement. They must use the “Add a Comment” box on the right and click Save.
  • Peer Review is not available to assignments created using the External Tool Submission Type in Canvas.
  • DocViewer is not available to anonymous peer reviewed assignments
