Example Email to Help Desk

I would like to schedule a time to install the free audio-editing software, Audacity, on my work-provided computer.

You can find the latest version of Audacity here:  Audacity Download.

I’d also like to export my audio to MP3 format, which will require installing the LAME plugin for Audacity.

Download and installation information about LAME can be found here:  Installing LAME on Windows.

Download & Install Audacity

The latest version of Audacity can be downloaded from Audacity’s Download page.

Download & Install LAME Library

Because of software patents, Audacity cannot freely include the software required to export MP3 files – but you can. Audacity recommends using a very popular third-party MP3 plugin called LAME.

Audacity has provided a link to download the LAME plugin as well as instructions for installing on Windows here:  Installing LAME on Windows.
